Basic Six

The Basic Six is 6 flight instruments to give the pilots a 'picture' of the aircraft flight condition.  The six are: 

1.     Airspeed Indicator.

2.     Altimeter.

3.     Gyro Horizon Unit (GHU).

4.     Direction Indicator (DI)

5.     Vertical Speed Indicator (VSI).

6.     Turn & Bank Indicator.

Flight Phase Mode (ECAM)

The upper display shows the Engine/Warning page and the lower display shows the page relating to the current phase of flight. There are seven flight phases, Pre-Flight, Take-Off, Climb, Cruise, Descent, Approach and Post-Landing.
