A Summary of Chapter 14: Electronic/Digital Aircraft Systems
In this sub-chapter we have discussed the following topics:
Flight Instruments: We discussed the 'Basic' Six' and the 'Basic T Grouping' instrument layouts.
Electronic Instrument Systems: We discussed the EFIS, EICAS and ECAM systems. We familiarised ourselves with further display formats such as EADI, EHSI, PFD and ND.
EADI: We discussed the many display formats of the EADI, we looked at each symbol used and it's function.
EHSI: We discussed the many display formats of the EHSI, we looked at each symbol and it's function.
PFD: We discussed the display format of the PFD, we looked at the symbology and it's function.
ND: We discussed the many display formats of the ND, we looked at the symbology and it's function.
Electronic Instruments (Engine and Airframe): We discussed how data from these systems can be displayed on the centre screens of a glass cockpit.
